Set of 3 Carving knives. Roughing knife, detail knife and hollowing knife.

This is a decent quality set of 3 knives that's ideal for beginners or as an economical set of extra knives for your tool roll. Each one is made from tool steel, hardened to RC56-58 to hold an edge well. Handles are ash. The two carving knives come with a decent edge and can be used right out of the box. The spoon carving knife would benefit from a bit of additional honing before use. 

Knife #1 - (sharp on curved edge) is an excellent over-all carving knife, useful for roughing out and rapid wood removal. Overall length is 6.5" (170mm), blade length 2-3/8" (60mm), blade depth 5/8" (16mm), blade thickness 2mm. 

Knife #2 - (sharp on straight edge) works well for fine detail and smoothing. The curved handle fits well in the hand and provides nice control. Overall length is 6.5" (170mm), blade length 1-7/8" (46mm), blade depth 5/16" (8mm), blade thickness 2mm.

Knife #3 - (hollowing or spoon carving knife) the curved blade makes this knife ideal for carving any object needing a concave surface (like spoons or bowls). Overall length is 6.5" (170mm), blade length 2-1/4" (57mm), blade depth 5/8" (16mm), blade thickness 2mm.
